Child Safety Officer
The Child Safety Officer provides child protection services to children and families through:
- undertaking the roles of an authorised officer under the Child Protection Act 1999 and some of the powers and functions that the chief executive has delegated
- applying relevant legislation, policies, procedures and quality standards in their contact with children and their families
- working collaboratively with approved carers, the community, government and non-government service providers.
The Child Safety Officer is the primary contact for matters specific to the child in your care, such as matters in the child’s case plan or your placement agreement, or any unmet of emerging needs relating to the child in your care.
